Update 0.B


Update 0.B brings many changes to the game:

Content

  • Commander system
    • Different commanders offer buffs
    • Commander overview in armory
  • Ordnance
    • S-8 Rocket: unguided high explosive rockets
    • S-10 Breaching Rockets: thermobaric weapons for collapsing structures
    • ACLOS-1: wire-guided anti tank missile
  • New unit: B-30 and B-30D
    • Heavy IFV equipped with a 80mm APHE cannon, deadly against light vehicles and can equip ATGMs
  • new unit: K-75B and K-75BM
    • The first main battle tank to be introduced into the game, these fast and capable tanks are the spear of many armored companies.
  • Stealth system
    • Levels of identification when spotting units
    • Alert system allows for ambushes

Missions: several new missions

  • 3 handmade missions
    • Eliminate command units
    • Siege facility
    • Extract under fire
  • New tutorial missions

Controls/QOL

  • unit selection improvements
    • Use numkeys 1 2 3.. etc to select units
    • double click numkey to focus camera
    • Click drag on screen to select multiple units
  • Pathfinding improvements
    • obstacle detection
  • Shift click to queue autopath

Armory

  • Pick units for a mission by swapping from the company motor pool
  • Armory overhaul
  • modules and ammunition swapping

Map improvements

  • City streets now have scattered vehicles, some of which can provide cover and block line of sight
  • Some maps now have a lot more environmental stuff and new buildings

Visuals/Sound

  • Unit spotting UI
  • More sound effect coverage
  • Effects
    • damage effects, tracks
  • Mission end unit kills/stats

Other

  • A new field of view system should improve performance in game.
  • Lots of bugfixes
  • lots of new bugs probably

Finally, the name of the game is changed to Armaphract, sort of a combination between "cataphract" and armor or armature

The armory is very cool but also very confusing, so having some kind of help to explain exactly what Im looking at might be a good idea. Units also seem to have some pathfinding issues especially around other tanks both alive and dead. I would also love to see a more intuitive way of neutral steering as trying to do it with movement commands is very finicky and has killed me more than once.

I can already tell Im in love with everything about this game tho, The gameplay is awesome, the visual style is amazing, and I adore the worldbuilding around the lore of the tanks and I cannot wait to see whats coming
